Overview
Pikey Peak (4,065m) is a stunning viewpoint in the Everest region, once a favorite of Sir Edmund Hillary. Just an hour’s walk from base camp, the summit offers breathtaking panoramas of Everest, Dhaulagiri, Makalu, and even all eight 8,000m peaks visible from Nepal, including distant Kanchenjunga. Adorned with prayer flags and chortens, it’s especially magical at sunrise and sunset—often said to rival the views from Kala Patthar. The name “Pikey” comes from a Sherpa clan deity, honored with local celebrations every July.
